李冬博士是中山大学岭南学院的助理教授，博士毕业于荷兰鹿特丹伊拉斯姆斯大学的 管理学院。在加入中山大学前，其曾于新加坡科技设计大学任研究员。他的研究兴趣包括：供应链管理，服务运营，可持续运营管理，运营管理与市场营销或金融的交叉方向。他目前有两篇论文在UT Dallas 24 期刊中处于二轮评审状态。
Dr. Li Dong is an Assistant Professor at Lingnan (university) College, Sun Yat-sen University. Prior to joining Lingnan, he was a research fellow at MIT-SUTD International Design Center of Singapore University of Technology and Design. He received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands. His research interests are supply chain management, service operations, sustainable operations and interfaces of marketing/finance and operations management.
内容简介
Customers are willing to pay a premium for organic produce. Some consumers further request that the product is locally sourced and are willing to pay even more. We study the capacity allocation decision of a large farm that has to decide how much of its land to allocate for green farming and how much of it to allocate to conventional farming when there is a yield disadvantage to green farming but the farm can get consulting services to improve that yield. We assume that the payment to the farmer in the form of a crop-sharing agreement where the green revenue, whether from the global or the local market, is shared with landowner. Interestingly, we find that it could be the case that the farmer makes lower effort when there is a group of local consumers that want to purchase organic, locally sourced produce.
